May 2007 Activities
Tuesday, May 22 - Holly's cam timing belt on her breeze breaks. This is not good. I don't have time to work on it until I get back from the DC ride next week.
Wednesday, May 23 - I hit the road bound for Triangle, VA but my rear cylinder exhaust pipe cracks in two about 1" from the head. I'm stuck in Waynesburg, PA at the Super 8 overnight. The Wendy's dining room is closed, but the drive-through is open. I walk through. No service. I go back and get the very loud FLHS and make sure I crack the throttle a couple of times.
Thursday, May 24 - The Monroe Muffler & Brake shop in Waynesburg, PA repaired my rear cylinder exhaust pipe.
Friday, May 25 - Holly and I take a ride. Among other points of interest, we happened by John Marshall's birthplace. He was one of the first chief justices of the United States Supreme Court.
Saturday, May 26 - Holly and I ride up to Washington, DC and snap a few photos.
Sunday, May 27 - Scott and I ride with the Quantico Marine Corps base bikers to the Pentagon. From there we ride with about 750,000 other bikes on the 20th annual Rolling Thunder "Ride To The Wall". Awesome!
Monday, May 28 - I hit the road to go home. I swing southwest to try to avoid the storms in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. I hit one anyway on I64 just inside West Virginia (White Sulphur Springs area) from Virginia. Just a little 5 minute soaker; I'm dry an hour later. I shut down at around 10PM CDT in Remington, IN.
Tuesday, May 29 - I resume the ride home and head west on US 24 to Forrest, Illinois and State Highway 47. I ride north on that into Wisconsin, then zig-zag on county and state roads to Wisconsin Highway 26. Up to Oshkosh, on 41, and home.
Thursday, May 31 - I start working on swapping out parts from the old Breeze engine to the new one we got at Cousineau Auto.
