September 12, 2003 - Moab to St. George, UT

We toured Arches NP in the morning, then bushwhacked west out a 4x4 trail to US 191 north. (Hint: if you can find that trail from US 191, you can avoid paying the park entry fee. Of course, you should have a 4x4 or you'll spend more for towing than the entry fee.)

We took I70 west to Richfield, then US 89 south past the Big Rock Candy Mountain (see pic). We went through Zion NP on SR 9, and stopped for ice cream. Then we went to St. George, where we had made a motel reservation.
