I went to Germany from the sixth through the 19th of June on a business trip to Emsdetten. Of course, we managed to find a little free time to take in the sights. On Wednesday the 9th we took a commuter train south from Emsdetten to Muenster. We toured the Centrum and had dinner at the Pinkus Muller restaurant. On Saturday the 12th we loaded up the minivan and headed for Koln and the Rhine river between Koln and Wiesbaden. We stayed overnight in Rudesheim, and headed back toward the Marksburg Castle Sunday. After the tour we headed back to Emsdetten.
Our stay in Emsdetten was very enjoyable. We stayed at the Dusterbeck hotel, which has been a family operation for over 120 years. We made a number of friends there (in the bar - imagine that!) and took a bunch of digital pictures of them the night of June 15th.
Our hosts at Jurgens took us on a tour of the Rolink brewery on Wednesday the 16th.
On the 18th we drove to Amsterdam and stayed overnight at the Krasnopolsky.
We flew home on the 19th.
