Saturday, August 12, 2006 - Union Pass, WY
Tom took Casey and me in his Dodge Van up to Lake Of The Woods, where we
camped and fished for the weekend.
We went northwest out of Dubois and turned left onto Union Pass Road. We went
through Du Noir (a ghost town). Pretty much no pavement anywhere up in that
area. Although it was possible to get up in there on the Harleys, it was a more
pleasant experience riding on four wheels. The camp was at about 9425' MSL, as
evidenced by the USGS marker I found and the GPS readings.
Beer and fish taste fine at that elevation.
The pictures are around 43.5N 109.8W. I took pictures of all the plaques on
rocks placed in a circle. The plaques describe Union Pass.
