Driveway Replacement - Summer 1997

After six years of watching the original concrete driveway achieve various levels of decrepitude, I finally decided to bite the bullet and replace it. Many friends helped out with the project.

Craig and Mark Howard performed the removal of the old driveway, calling on me occasionally to wield a sledge hammer with them. Mark also started the grading.

Kurt Nowak helped out a great deal with the forms, grading, reinforcement, pouring, troweling and brooming (did I mention he helped a lot?)

Rob Meyer helped out with the hand troweling and brooming, then applied the sealant. He came back two days later to saw cut the pad to prevent cracking.

Here are several images depicting the removal of the old concrete and the pour/prep of the new stuff. Lots of work here, with thanks to all who helped.
